4. Make sure that you can build a strong relationship with your dog. It will be much easier for you to teach dogs new tricks and commands when they trust you. To make that happen, make sure that you can make him feel safe and secure with your presence. Never strike or hit your dog, and shower him with plenty of love and attention.
